alcohol, cancer survivors, and good friends…

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and its better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring. ~Marylin Monroe”

yep, as odd as it sounds, that pretty much sums up my weekend.

Roommate had a friend visiting from out of town this weekend… she got in Friday night, and that made for quite the long day. For starts I work an 11 hours day, wasn’t too bad, but the longs ones can be hard. Came home we all ordered sushi, and then the fun begin. We had a late start, so we figured we needed to play a little catch up, each round of drinks can with a shot on the side. Needless to say, we caught up pretty quickly. At one point we stepped out side (roommate and her friend smoke, and they just passed a no smoking indoors law here) and I’m not sure if this guy was trying to hit on us or if he was just an idiot (though I am leaning more towards drunken idiot) but hes all like, “Hey, its kinda cold out here, can I borrow your coat.” After receiving nothing nothing but confused stares he mumbled something about his friend didn’t think he would do it, made a few more equally ridiculous jokes, and finally left us alone. Next somke break,  I waited inside. It was fun we had a good time… got a cab home, and continued to dance around the apartment being silly till the wee hours of the morning.

Saturday, was must less fun… I was an hour and a half late for work (teach me to go out drinking on a friday night) and spent the evening being lazy in recovery of the previous late night…

Sunday the salon hosted its 10th annual Life is a Gift charity event. Its a few hours long and we cut and style hair, do make-up, hand treatments, and neck and should massages while the female cancer survivors get to mingle, eat and just relax. We took pic for them after there makeover and there was a really nice gift raffle. All in  all it was a huge success. Its hard to see that many women who are fighting cancer (some of them are really young), but at the same time there are the 10 year survivors there too, and that gives the ones who are still fighting hope! The evening ended with dinner with some of the girls from the salon (compliments of the owner :) we love her), then cocktails and a movie with lulu.

Made for a nice weekend… too bed they seem to go by so quickly…
