CHRISTMAS!!!

Honestly, Christmas was a little weird this year… I had a hell of a time getting into the holiday spirit, and Im not sure I really ever got there! We have had a strong same thing we do ever year for as long as I can remember Christmas tradition in my house….

(FLASHBACK DREAM-LIKE SEQUENCE BEGINS)

This involves all the children in the family (who are now quite grown) and sisters husband all hulling up in one room on Christmas Eve. And with 5 full grown people in one bedroom this is no easy task. We are all crammed into nooks and corners, but for us thats part of the fun at this point. There is little sleep and a lot of giggling all night long followed by sister (the oldest of the bunch – which makes this part even better) waking us at 5am only to be told by the parents that we have to go back to bed for at least an hour…. During which we all sit up and talk so that we can re-wake the parents at exactly 6am. This leads to coffee, presents, and horrible just rolled out of bed christmas morning pics… But what a wonderful time it all adds up too.

with the family in FL this year, this was not how Christmas went… and therefore it really didnt feel like Christmas at all… Now dont get me wrong – I had a wonderful time… but it just wasnt Christmas! I did come to stay with sister and her husband – and we had a lovely time. Girl in the Crosswalk came to join us Christmas day, and she was just lovely. It was great to have her there… then there was dinner with sushi husbands fam. And all in all is was a great holiday! Complete with frosted sugar cookies and magic cookie bars!
